Federico Jesus and Federico Jose are the Federicos of the restaurant name. Known to family and friends as Kiko and Rico, they are the sommerlier and grand chef, respectively of Federicos Tapas & Wine Bar. The brothers, born ten years apart into a large and loving Venezuelan family, came to America years ago seeking their fortune.
The brothers began working in Miami in various restaurants both focused on their shared goal of one day opening their own restaurant. Rico attended Le Cordon Blue cooking school, leaving to apprentice privately with a world class chef. Kiko followed his passion for wine into a career in wine service in many of the country’s premier wine restaurants.
Life’s twists and turns eventually brought the Federicos to Union City, where they opened Cafe Bellisimo. Federicos Tapas & Wine Bar is their third entirely independent venture. Named for both brothers, the restaurant fully embodies the brothers’ shared dream of a beautiful restaurant with extraordinary food, wonderful wines, and exquisite service.
